2、epartmentofForeignLanguageStudiesSubject:EnglishName:Number:Director:June2019嘻哈文化對美國黑人的意義和影響摘要作為20世紀(jì)美國最終的草根藝術(shù),20世紀(jì)70年代出現(xiàn)的美國嘻哈文化如今已經(jīng)成為全球性文化。從歐洲到亞洲,從非洲到美洲,隨處可見一群穿著肥碩的褲子,身體隨節(jié)奏靈活律動,嘴上不停喊話的嘻哈青年。嘻哈文化作為抵抗主流社會的隔離和卑視、表達(dá)黑人青年真實生活狀態(tài)和自我認(rèn)同的載體,對當(dāng)代美國黑人青年的成長具有重要意義。本文通過分析嘻哈文化的產(chǎn)生背景,即黑人受壓迫的美國社會,淺析嘻哈文化的價值所在,幫助黑人解放天性,以及嘻

9、ehistoryofthecountryformorethan200years,andhasbecomeoneofthemostculturallydiversecountriesintheworld,InAmericansociety,asanenslavedrace,blackpeoplewereexcludedfromthemainstreamforalongtime.Therefore,blackculturewasalsolookeddownuponandignoredforages.Evensince20centuries,Americahasrisenup,andreplaced

10、Europeastheglobalsuperpower.Asofnow,thescandalaboutracialdiscriminationinAmericansocietyisstillendless.InvariousethnicgroupsintheUnitedStates,differentethnicgroupsholddifferentpoliticalandeconomicresourcesandsocialstatus.Althoughethnicminoritieshavehadalmostequalpoliticalstatuswithwhitepeopleinrecen

11、tyears,theeconomictreatmentandeducationalresourcesenjoyedbyethnicminoritiesarestillMuchlessthanwhitepeople.Thehip-hopcultureintheUnitedStatesisnotjustfunkorR&B.Itisaspecialculturalproductofaspecialera.Inthisculture,wecanseebreakdanceandgraffiti.Manypeoplethinkthathip-hopcultureisessentiallyacomplain

12、tofsocialunfairnessandamanifestationoftheirownpersonality.Hip-hopculturereflectsthelackofitsownrealityofpainandanger.Hip-hopcultureisnotanisolatedphenomenon.Itisabottom-upgrassrootsculturalmovement.Wecansayhip-hopcultureprofoundlychangestheblackAmericanlife.Throughtheanalysisofthebackgroundofhip-hop

13、culture,thepaperanalyzesthevalueofhip-hopculture,andtheinfluenceofhip-hopcultureonblackAmericans.ResearchBackgroundandSignificanceResearchBackgroundFromthebeginningofthe20thcentury,theNegroculturalmovementflourished.TherearethreeblackculturalmovementsinAmerica.Forinstance,HarlemRenaissancetookplacei

14、n1920s.AndBlackArts-movementhappenedin1970s.Whatismore,Hip-hopCultureoccurredin1970s.ThesethreeculturalmovementsreflectedthevitalityofblackcultureandhadagreatinfluenceonAmericanhistory,especiallyhip-popculture.Itusedtobethemusicdancewhichwasperformedbyasmallnumberofblackyouthinthestreet.Andnowitdeve

15、lopsintoaglobalculture.Americanyouth,especiallytheblackcommunity,aredeeplyinfluencedbyhip-hopcultureintermsoflanguage,thoughtandbehavior.Theyarecalled“hip-hopgeneration”.Tobetterunderstandhip-hopculture,manyscholarshaveconductedin-depthresearch.Inthedomesticresearch,WuYan(2011)focusedontheblackrapcu

16、lture,analyzedtheinfluenceandvalueofrapmusiconAfricanAmericans.Shebelievesthatrapmusichasbecomeatoolforblackpeopletofightagainstinjustice.ChenMin(2012)believesthatblackAmericanyouthisallinfluencedbyhip-hopcultureinlanguage,psychologyandbehavior,andbecomeanewgenerationofAmericanyouthgroupwithuniquela

17、nguage,identityandvalues.Inoverseasstudies,AddisonGaylehasshownthatblackartisdeeplyrootedinAfricanAmericananger.InClayssurveyofthesurveyors,hefoundthatintheactivitiesofhip-hopculture,thesurveyorsfeeltherespectandpositiveresponsefromothers,whichareexactlywhattheblackyouthurgentlyneedsinthelong-termso

18、cialdiscrimination.Domesticandforeignresearchhaveemphasizedtheliberatingeffectofhip-hopcultureonthenatureofblackAmericans,makingthemmoreunitedandpositive.Significanceofthehip-popcultureHip-hopcultureisrootedintheAfrican-Americancommunity.Itisanumbrellatermforstreetculturewithmanyelements,includingda

19、nce,music,DJ,rap,graffiti,costumesandsoon.Hip-hopcultureispartofthestreetculture.Anditreflectsthecasualattitudetowardslife.Theyweardistinctiveclothesandbehavestrangely.Eveniftheydonotknoweachothercantheybeidentifiedbytheirappearanceandbehavior.Hip-hopcultureisakindoflifeattitudederivedfromtheprimiti

20、vetribesofAfrica.ItisnotasimplecombinationofDJ,MC,graffiti,streetdanceandothermajorelements.Aftermorethan30yearsofdevelopment,ithasbecomeaworldwideculturalphenomenon,lifestyleandspiritualsymbol.Hip-hopculturerepresentsasenseoflifethatenjoyslife,displaysindividuality,expressesfreely,anddarestochallen

21、ge.Everyonelivinginitisconstantlyexploringandmasteringvariouship-hopskills.Inordertoallowmorepeopletohearorseetheirtalents,AfricanAmericanscontinuetobreakthroughthelimitationsoflife,thusmakingthewholehip-hopculturelivelier.Firstly,theessenceofhip-hopcultureliesinitssubject-matter.Hip-hopcultureisthe

22、cultureofthebottompeople,payingattentiontothejoysandsorrowsoftherealexperienceoftheunderlyingblackgroups.Thisisunmatchedbyothercultures.Secondly,itisitsmanifestation.Theexpressivenessofhiphopcultureisalsocharacterizedbysensibility,straightforwardnessandalong-repressedintensity.Thisisrelatedtothetens

23、ion,contradictionandfeedbackthatbottompeopleoftenexperienceinthelife.Itisalsounacceptabletothosewhoadmire“TheSpringSnow”.Thirdly,itisitsbeliefthathip-hopculturespursuitoffairnessandfreedom,theconcernfortruelife,andtherespectsforordinarypeoplearerevolutionary.Theoriginalmeaningofhip-hopcultureisthatp

24、oorAfricanAmericansusespecialwordsanddeedsandlifestylestoexpresstheirdissatisfactionwithsocialunfairtreatmentandracialdiscrimination.Therefore,thespiritandmostofthehip-hopculturearenotacceptedbythegovernmentandmainstreamsociety.Withtheprogressofsocietyandtheimprovementofthestatusofblackpeople,andino

25、rdertopromoteandallowmorepeopletoacceptthehip-hopculture,theAfricanAmericancommunitybegantocreatenewwaystocontinuethesurvivalanddevelopmentofhip-hopculture.Nowadays,hip-hopcultureisnotonlysynonymouswiththeblackpeopleatthebottomoftheUnitedStates,butalsoasymbolofyoungvitalityandpassionatefighting.Acco

26、rdingtothecurrentdevelopmenttrend,hip-hopculturewillhavegreaterinfluence.Introductiontohip-hopcultureThebackgroundofhip-hopcultureInthe1970sinNewYork,discomusicprevailed.Theupperclassdresseduptogotothedisco.ThewholeworldthoughtthatNewYorkwasaparadise.Incontrast,peopleintheBronx,NewYork,livedindirest

27、raits.Thenumberoffiresinasingleyearwasashighas12,300.Thelivingenvironmentwaslikeabesiegedwarzone.IthasalwaysbeenafamoussluminNewYork.Since1960,themainresidentshavebeenblackorHispanic.AlthoughthecivilrightsmovementintheUnitedStateshasbeenverypopularinrecentyears,atpresent,theblackpeopleintheUnitedSta

28、tesenjoylesseducationalresourcesandjobopportunitiesthanwhitepeople.IntheUnitedStates,blackpeopleareengagedinavarietyoflow-endjobs,thepoor.Theblacksintheregionarerarelyabletochangetheirowndestinythroughtheirownefforts.Theseareasweretheplaceswherewhitesleftbehindinthepurchaseofnewhomesinthesuburbs.Whi

29、teslivedinbigcities.Blackscouldonlyliveinastagnantarea.Thefuturewasbleak.Blackpeoplelistenedtotheirmusicanddidtheirownthingsinadifficultenvironment.Therewererebelliousvoicesthatcameoutoftheseareasfromtimetotime.Hiphopmusicwasborninthiscontext.Theoriginofhip-hopcultureTheoriginalpurposeofhiphopwastof

30、indtheidentityoftheAfricanAmericancommunity.Thisisbecauseinthesocialbackgroundofracialdiscriminationagainsttheblackethnicgroupsatthattime,theUSeconomywasinarecession.Theywereplaguedbyproblemssuchaspoverty,hunger,disease,anddrugs.Soatthistime,alotofpoorblackswereidle,boreddancingandsinginginthestreet

31、s.Ofcourse,thereweresomepeoplewithmusicanddancetalents.Itwasbecausetheywereinspiredbyfreedomthatdancingandsingingbecameeasy.Theformwasnotlimitedandcreative,sothereweresomedifferentformsofworksthatslowlyemergedunderfreeplay.Inthemidandlate1970s,theculturewasgraduallycommercializedandpackaged.Andtheen

32、tertainmentthatwasoriginallyprevalentinthepoorblacksbecameapopularelementofcommercializationandwasgraduallyacceptedbythepublic.Inthenextdecade,theglobaleconomiccrisisemergedandthetideofindustrializationswepttheworld,mostoftheunemployedappearingintheUnitedStates.Theunemploymentratecontinuedtorise,lea

33、dingtotheretrogressionofthecountryseconomicdevelopmentandhumansuffering.Amongthem,thepeoplewhoaremostaffectedarethebottompeopleandpeoplecantbearthepain.Therefore,inthisenvironment,hip-hopculturehasbecomemorepopularintheUnitedStatesasatoolforexpressinginnerthinking.Themanifestationofhip-hopcultureThe

34、hip-hopculturewasbornintheUnitedStatesin1970.ItsbirthplacesincludeHarlem,NewYork,BrooklynandthelowerBronx.ItincludesMC(rap),DJ(disc),streetdanceandgraffiti.Thesefourelementsinvolvevisuallanguage,bodylanguageandmusiclanguage,andtheyaretheinitialexpressionsofhip-hopculture.Inthelaterdevelopmentprocess

37、eonbackThesignificanceoftheemergenceofhip-hopcultureTheoriginofhip-hopmusicitselfisduetotheinjusticesofsociallydisadvantagedgroupswhowanttoresistsociety.ButwhatisridiculousisthatalargenumberofAfricanAmericanshaveearnedmoneytolivethelifetheywantthroughtheirtalentsforhip-hopculture.Infact,theirincreas

38、inglypersistentandbelovedhip-hopculturenotonlybringsthembreadtomakealiving,butalsohasmorevalueandmeaning.DuetothespecialnationalconditionsoftheUnitedStates,AfricanAmericanscannotobtainsatisfactoryincomeandpoliticalstatus,sotheywillspendtoomuchenergyondanceandrap.Intheprocessoftheirconversation,theyi

39、nvoluntarilyappliedraptorebelandridiculethediscriminationandunfairtreatmenttheyencounteredintheirlives.Thiskindofinterestingcommunicationbetweenblackgroupsallowsthemtoventtheirdissatisfactionandseekmoreopportunitiesforcooperation.AsoneofthemostrepresentativeAmericanblackculture,hip-hopcultureleadsth

40、etrendofworldartculturewithitsuniqueartisticcharm.ThespiritualPowerofhip-hopCultureTheevolutionofhip-hopcultureisfullofexplorationandcompetition.Itisundeniablethatdanceandmusichavefulfilledthehip-hopculture.Iftherearenotsomanypeoplewholovetodance,theblackswillnottrytofindaqualityrecord;iftherearenos

41、uchgroupofthunderboltboys,noonewillthinkofextendingtheintervalofthealbum;withtheintermittentperiod,peoplenaturallythinkofwhattodo.Inthisway,thehip-hopisgraduallyformedandimprovedinaprocessofcompetitionandexploration.Thereasonwhyhip-hopculturecanleadthetrendofworldpopmusicinjust30yearsisbecausehip-ho

42、pmusicconformstothevaluestandardofmostpeopleintheUnitedStates-fullofcompetitionandfightingspirit.TheAmericannationitselfisnotasecurepopulation.Theyareveryaggressiveandcompetitive.Theyhaveacloserelationshipwiththetwoworldwars.Theearlyhip-hopcultureisrelativelydecent,butastimegoesby,thecompetitionbeco

43、mesmoreandmorefierce.Differentstylesofhip-hopculturesingersoftenhavedifferences,sotheywritethesedifferencesinthelyrics,makingthisculturefullofirritationandcontradiction.Althoughitisproducedinblackslums,itisthismusicfullofdescriptionsofstreetlife,dissatisfactionwithsocialphenomenaandgroups,andtherapp

44、ersverycontagiousexpression,thatanincreasingnumberofpeopleareinvolvedandinlovewiththisstyle.Secondly,iftherearesomecompetitiveadvantagesinAfricanAmericans,itisdefinitelyintermsofmusicaltalent.“Thereisnodoubtthatnooneonearthissosensitivetomusicastheyarekindofceremonyandactivity,suchasfestivals,ceremo

45、niesandcommemorations,willbeaccompaniedbyasuitablemusic.Althoughtheblackpeoplehavebeenslavesforcenturies,theyhavenotsuppressedthemusicalenthusiasm.Thisfullydemonstratesthattheblackethnicgrouphasapositiveattitudeandaqualitythatisnotafraidofdanger.Mattercanbescarce,butspiritualenjoymentisindispensable

46、.Blackpeopleareverysmart.Theydontwastetheirphysicaltalents,buttheyusethemallfortheirownwelfare.Blackswithmusicalinstrumentscanalwaysenjoybettertreatmentthanblackswhodonot.Atthesametime,fortheblackpeople,spreadinghip-hopcultureisindeedahappything.Allthedepressionandsufferingsareintegratedintothesong.
