But today, things stand differently.According to a survey, the “dream job” of young people aged between 16 and 25 in the UK is a video blogger, or “vlogger(視頻博主)”. The survey, carried out among 1,002 people, found that as much as 40 percent of them put vlogger as their number one choice on a list of ideal careers. The single factor contributing to this change is undoubtedly the Internet and social media. They have made it so much easier to reach a global audience, without having to enter a career in show business the traditional way.In years gone by, the biggest stars were trained by the Hollywood studios; now, anyone with a computer camera can become an icon. From fashion to comedy, these selfmade stars record their hobbies for fans. Vloggers are the big stars of today because they are normal people interacting with their fans about everyday life. However, what people see is only the bright side of being a vlogger and they ignore the fact that only those who are successful gain fame and fortune. For every success there are a hundred others who never get off the starting block. There are the dreams that come true and the dreams that are destined(注定) to remain dreams. This is why despite the popularity of vloggers, some young people chose to follow careers that dont necessarily earn them fame, but allow them to make good use of the Internet to share their hobbies. Young Israeli David Leshaw, for example, runs a business called the Finishers Club. Its an online platform for runners to keep a record of their races. He told the career website Zippia that his job allows him to express his passion, and is always a learning experience. And thats enough for him. 4How many of the young people surveyed chose vlogger as their first ideal career?AOne fifth. BTwo fifths.CThree fifths. DFour fifths. 5What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 3 refer to?AIdeal careers.BThe biggest stars.CThe Internet and social media.DThe single factor and this change. 根據(jù)畫線詞所在句上一句可知,They指the Internet and social media,故選C項。6Why do vloggers become big stars of today?ABecause people can see the vloggers bright side.BBecause they will not spend a lot of money on the screen.CBecause they communicate with their fans about everyday life.DBecause they can gain both fame and fortune by being a vlogger. 7What can we know from David Leshaws experience?ASuccess is the first for David Leshaw.BDavid Leshaw likes to be a vlogger very much.CDespite not being a famous vlogger, he still earns a lot of money.DDespite not being famous, he finds his favorite job and learns a lot from it. China has been the birthplace of many of the worlds greatest inventions. It was, for example, the first country to produce paper money. Before the invention of paper money and coins, people used many different kinds of things for buying and selling. _1_ This exchange of goods and services for other goods and services is called bartering._2_ In 1200 BC, people in China began to use shells as money. Usually the shells used as money were very small. This made it easier for people to carry money over long distances, and allowed for trade to develop between different parts of the country. In the years which followed this invention, many other countries around the world began to do the same. _3_The next development was in 1000 BC, when China started making bronze and copper shells. It wasnt long before the Chinese made round coins out of metal: _4_ By 500 BC, metal coins had begun to appear in countries like Persia and Greece, and later in the Roman Empire.About 1,000 years later, leather was used as money in China, and in 806 AD, the first paper banknotes were produced by the Chinese people. _5_APeople also began collecting foreign coins as souvenirs.BHowever, as economies developed, such exchanges became impractical.CIt was still many years before paper currency appeared in Europe.DThey also used tiny shells as money for buying and selling.EAs time went by, trade between countries increased.FDuring that time, for example, buying a chicken might cost several potatoes.GThe very first coins often had holes in them so that people could string them together. B項中的such exchanges與第一段中的This exchange相呼應(yīng),However表示轉(zhuǎn)折,引出下文,承上啟下,故選B項。 語法填空課標(biāo)話題人與社會跨文化溝通體裁說明文詞數(shù) 165難度 (2019大慶鐵人中學(xué)???Did you grow up in one culture, your parents came from another, and you are now living in a 1._(total) different country?
