7、e finance. The concepts developed in this course form the foundation for all elective finance courses. This course is a good preparation for CFA Level I and II tests. The main topics include: 1) Introduction to Corporate Finance; 2) Financial Statements, Taxes, and Cash Flow; 3) Working with Financi

8、al Statements; 4) Long-term Financial Planning and Growth; 5) Time Value of Money; 6) Discounted Cash Flow Valuation; 7) Interest Rates and Bond Valuation; 8) Stock Valuation; 9) Net Present Value and Other Investment Criteria; 10) Making Capital Investment Decisions; 11) Project Analysis and Evalua

9、tion; 12) Some Lessons from Capital Market History; 13) Return, Risk and Security Market Line; 14) Capital Structure; 15) Raising Capital; 16) Dividend Policy Decisions; 17) Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions. Learning Outcomes The ultimate goal of the course is to build a solid foundati

10、on of corporate finance knowledge, and to improve students research abilities through rigorous teaching and exercises. On completion of the course, students should (a) have understood the important theories in corporate finance and been able to apply them to analyse corporate events; (b)have develop

11、ed their understanding of certain methods of research in corporate finance; (c) have improved their presentation skills; (d) be able to make argument in a consistent way; (e) evaluate economic events in an international and unbiased way (f) solve problems with logical, independent and innovative ide

12、as Teaching Approach The teaching programme consists 16 three-hour lectures in the first semester starting on Tue 11th Sep 2018. The classes will combine lecturing and presentations. In addition to reading chapters in the textbooks, you are recommended to read news, papers and books of various topic

The presentation will start on the 3rd week on Tue 25th Sep. We have 14 weeks for presentations.Each week, two students (student
