10、的從句,其作用是作定語修飾主句的某個(gè)名詞性成分,一般緊跟在它所修飾的先行詞后面。2、關(guān)系詞:引導(dǎo)定語從句的關(guān)聯(lián)詞稱為關(guān)系詞,關(guān)系詞有關(guān)系代詞和關(guān)系副詞。關(guān)系代詞有that, which, who, whom, whose, as等;關(guān)系副詞有where, when, why等。關(guān)系詞有三個(gè)作用:1、引導(dǎo)定語從句;2、代替先行詞;3、在定語從句中擔(dān)當(dāng)一個(gè)成分。3、先行詞:被定語從句修飾、限定的詞或短語,稱為先行詞。4、定語從句分為限定性定語從句和非限定性定語從句。三、Warming up:1 比一比,看看誰想出的含有定語從句的句子最多? 2你能劃出下面句子中的定語從句嗎?As a Global

11、Environmental Ambassador(大使) , Gong Li urges the public to give up habits that are harmful to the environment .四、Teaching material:限定性定語從句 一、關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)的定語從句1. who指人在從句中做主語(1) The boys who are playing football are from Class One.(2) Yesterday I helped an old man who had lost his way. 2. whom指人,在定語從句中充當(dāng)賓語

12、,常可省略。(1) Mr. Liu is the person (whom) you talked about on the bus.(2) Mr. Ling is just the man whom I want to see.注意:關(guān)系代詞whom在口語和非正式語體中常用who代替,可省略。(3) The man who/whom you met just now is my friend. 3. which指物在定語從句中做賓語時(shí)可省略 (1) Football is a game which is liked by most boys. (2) This is the pen (whi

13、ch) he bought yesterday.4. that既可代表事物也可代表人。關(guān)系代詞在從句中作主語時(shí)不能省略,而當(dāng)關(guān)系代詞在從句中作賓語時(shí),常常省略。特別提示:1關(guān)系代詞做從句的主語時(shí),從句謂語動(dòng)詞的人稱和數(shù)要與先行詞保持一致。2如果which在從句中作“不及物動(dòng)詞介詞”的介詞的賓語,注意介詞不要丟掉,而且介詞常放在關(guān)系代詞which的前邊,但有的則放在它原來的位置。 3. 在帶有下列詞的句子中用that而不用which,(1)當(dāng)先行詞是anything, everything, nothing , none等不定代詞時(shí);(2)由every, any, all, some, no,

14、little, few, much等修飾時(shí)等,這時(shí)的that常省略;(3)先行詞前有序數(shù)詞或形容詞最高級修飾時(shí);(4)先行詞是序數(shù)詞或最高級時(shí);(5)先行詞中既有人又有物時(shí);(6)句中前面有which時(shí)。 5. whose通常指人,也可指物,在定語從句中做定語 eg. He has a friend whose father is a doctor. whose指物時(shí),常用以下結(jié)構(gòu)來代替: eg. (1). The classroom whose door is broken will soon be repaired. The classroom the door of which is b

15、roken will soon be repaired. (2) Do you like the book whose color is yellow? Do you like the book the color of which is yellow?二、關(guān)系副詞 關(guān)系副詞=介詞+關(guān)系代詞 why=for which where=in which when=during which whose=of which 1. where是關(guān)系副詞,用來表示地點(diǎn)的定語從句 2. when引導(dǎo)定語從句表示時(shí)間3. whose是關(guān)系代詞,修飾名詞作定語,相當(dāng)于所修飾成分的前置所有格。它引導(dǎo)的從句可以修飾人

16、和物,當(dāng)它引導(dǎo)的從句修飾物體時(shí),可以與 of which 調(diào)換,表達(dá)的意思一樣。關(guān)系副詞引導(dǎo)的定語從句: 1. when指時(shí)間,在定語從句中做時(shí)間狀語 eg. I still remember the day when I first came to the school. 2. where指地點(diǎn),在定語從句中做地點(diǎn)狀語eg. Shanghai is the city where I was born. 3. why指原因,在定語從句中做原因狀語 eg. Please tell me the reason why you are late. 注意:關(guān)系副詞引導(dǎo)的從句可以由“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”引導(dǎo)

17、的從句替換 (1) The reason why/ for which he refused the invitation is not clear, (2) From the year when/in which he was going to school he began to know what he wanted when he grew up.(3) Great changes have taken place in the city in which./where I was born.判斷關(guān)系代詞與關(guān)系副詞: 方法一: 用關(guān)系代詞,還是關(guān)系副詞完全取決于從句中的謂語動(dòng)詞。不及物

18、動(dòng)詞后面無賓語,就必須要求用關(guān)系副詞或者是介詞加關(guān)系代詞;而及物動(dòng)詞后接賓語,則要求用關(guān)系代詞。例如: This is the mountain village where I stayed last year. I'll never forget the days when I worked together with you. (錯(cuò)) This is the mountain village where I visited last year. (錯(cuò)) I will never forget the days when I spent in the countryside. (對)

19、 This is the mountain village (which) I visited last year. (對) I'll never forget the days (which) I spent in the countryside. 習(xí)慣上總把表地點(diǎn)或時(shí)間的名詞與關(guān)系副詞 where, when聯(lián)系在一起。此兩題錯(cuò)在關(guān)系詞的誤用上。 方法二: 準(zhǔn)確判斷先行詞在定語從句中的成分(主、謂、賓、定、狀),也能正確選擇出關(guān)系代詞/關(guān)系副詞。例1. Is this museum _ you visited a few days ago? A. where B. that C.

Is this the museum _ the exhibition was held?A. where B. that C. on which 關(guān)系詞的選擇依據(jù)在從句中所做的成分,先行詞在從句中做主、定、賓語時(shí),選擇關(guān)系代詞 (who, whom, that, which, whose); 先行詞在從句中做狀語時(shí),應(yīng)選擇關(guān)系副詞 ( where 地點(diǎn)狀語,when 時(shí)間狀語,why 原因狀語) 。Exercises:1. A. whose B. that C. who D. which非限定性定語從句 非限定性定語從句的作用是對所修飾的成分作進(jìn)一步說明,通常是引導(dǎo)詞和先行詞之間用逗號隔開,將從句拿掉后其他部分仍可成立。在非限定性定語從句中,不能用關(guān)系副詞why和關(guān)系代詞that,而用who, whom代表人,用which,whose代表事物。 限制性定語從句  非限制性定語從句 不用逗號和主句隔開 用逗號和主句隔開 是先行詞不可缺少的定語,不能刪除 是對先行詞的補(bǔ)充說明,刪除后意思仍完整 翻譯成先行詞的定語,“的” 通常翻譯成主句的并列
