We are ReadyEverybody knows the capital city of china. Beijing is going to host the Olympic Games in 2008. When I recall the moment that we received, the news that china had won the opportunity to host the Olympic Games and when I remember I jumped high with my family in front of the TV, excitement and pride still move me deeply. It is not only a chance to host the Olympic Games but also recognition and respect from the whole world. It means a lot to the nation exploring its own way of development and prosperity. China is an ancient country with a long history of 4000 years. Our ancestors created glorious civilization. The four great inventions are a great contribution to the mankind, and helped the world to develop its economy and culture. During the Tang dynasty, China is a powerful developed country. Many Chinese people visited foreign countries all over the world to build friendship with them. But at the end of last century and the beginning of this century, our nation suffered a lot from being invaded and economic decline. Under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese nation realized great renascence. Chinese economy has developed at a high speed. And chinas status in the international society has been promoted. China is being on its way to a prosperous and rich country. The opportunity to host the Olympic Games 2008 shows that China has achieved a lot in developing its economy as a result of the policy of opening and reform. Chinese people are a nation that values peace and friendship. We are creating channels to understand foreign countries and also trying our best to find more ways to make ourselves understood. After several years effort, we are ready to welcome friends from the whole world. We are ready in every way. It is no exaggeration at all that each and every Chinese person, old and young is ready to welcome the arrival of the Olympic flame. Posters about the Olympic Games are seen everywhere. in the streets and shops. The sign of five rings is memorized deeply and permanently by Chinese people. The five rings are connected each other, and we are opening our arms to be ready to embrace the whole world. You must have enjoyed the beautiful images of the newly-built stadiums. The Olympic Games have stimulated our wisdom to design and build wonderful buildings, such as the Bird Nest. Chinese government has taken measures to offer a nice environment for the Olympic Games. Havent you noticed that the sky is bluer and cleaner in Beijing. The streets are tidier, and the transportation is more convenient and quicker. The elderly in Beijing are learning English to be ready to communicate with foreign friends and serve the Olympic Games. Chinese government has done a lot to ensure the security of foreign friends and athletes. Policemen have been trained, detailed security plans are made. Whats more, we also pay much attention to different dietary habits. Many cooks are trained to cook tasty food for athletes from different countries .this will be a strong support for the athletes to be energetic. We have thought up every possible way to guarantee foreign friends a happy stay in Beijing and in China .In short, the whole nation is well prepared now. We are ready.The Olympic Games are not only a sports event, they also provide a platform for friends from all over the world to carry out economic and cultural exchange .More foreign companies will enter the Chinese market, and many Chinas businesses and factories will cooperate with foreign companies They will benefit from the golden opportunity.Peace and development are the major issues that the whole world has to face and solve. Peaceful life is what everyone wants. Friend ship warms peoples hearts to make this world a better place to live .The Olympic Games spread peace and friendship, enhance mutual under- standing of people from different cultures .the more we understand each other , the more easily we get along well with each other. What a sweet dream for the people in the world to live like a big harmonious family. I dont think the dream is far from us. If we all make our own efforts, the dream will surely come true. The Chinese people have the tradition of love for friendship. Confucius, an ancient Chinese educationist, taught his students by saying “Isnt it a pleasant thing to be visited by friend from far away ?”, Now, we, the Chinese people are looking forward to meeting friends from foreign countries.Dalai Lama incited his followers to stop the torch rally. All of his conspiracies have been destroyed to be in vain. We have experienced the unity and enthusiasm of the overseas Chinese and the students who are studying abroad. Many, many countries and some presidents have shown their intention to take part in the Olympic Games in Beijing. The Olympic Games are approac
