kent,england“i applied because i want to be able to say i made a difference to the future of mankind,”explains weedon,a 27-year-old manager.weedon doesnt have a background in science,but she is driven by the chance.weedons brother also applied but was not selected for the final 100.“my brother is pretty envious,but the rest of my friends and family are proud and excited.”the only exception is weedons boyfriend,who doesnt want her to go.weedon thinks it was her teamworking skills that saw her through this farin her current job she works as part of a group of four,the same size as the planned mars one crew.but shes not pretending a trip to mars is going to be a walk in the park.“when i think about it seriously,i am shocked,”she says,“but that doesnt put me off.it drives me
