I am from the School of Foreign Studies, Anhui Normal University.It s my honour to present my lesson plan here today.The lesson I mgoing to present is from Go for it Grade7 Unit 8 When is your birthday? Section A part. I wa
2、ntto explain my lesson plan in these 6 aspects: the analysis of teaching material, teaching objectives, theoretical basis and teaching methods, teaching procedures, blackboard design and self-reflection.I. Analysis of teaching materialBefore starting to teach, analysing the teaching material is nece
3、ssary. Section A is the most important part of this unit. The main task of the section is to learn how to say date in English and practice oralEnglish. Students have learned numbers in Unit 7 andthe main knowledge of Unit 8 is the expressions of date.So Section A is a transitional part. The difficul
4、t and key points are vocabulary and how students can use the target language proficiently. II. Teaching objectivesThere are three objectives of the lesson. The first is knowledge objective. Through studying, students get to know the vocabulary of months: January, February to December and ordinal num
5、bers from first to thirty first. Also, students should know some daily expressions:“Whenis your birthday? My birthday is and how to express date in certain circumstances. The second is ability objective. Through some listening and speaking activities, students can proficiently use the sentence patte
6、rn: Whenis your birthday? and make conversations. Also, students logic thinking, the skills of rapidly reaction and practising can be well promoted. The third is affection objective. Students can be more self-confident in interacting with their friends. And the lesson encourages students to love lif
7、e and respect their parents.III. Theoretical basis and teaching methods1. Theoretical basisAccording to the New National English Curriculum, the priority of English teaching is cultivating students interests and confidence in learning English, helping them develop good learning habits and methods, t
8、hem to learn by themselves and coorperate with So in my class, I will make learning more interesting, provide more time for students to work in pairs and groups and make sure every student has the chance to practice.2. Teaching methodsguiding others.ll adoptstudentsThe essence of teaching is communi
9、cating, so I the following two teaching approaches. The first is question leading approach. After questioning, can discuss in groups or with their partners. Then, I will let students answer one by one to examine their mastering of the knowledge of last class. Also, this can help to consolidate their
10、 knowledge. The second is communication approach. Through grouping, students can make dialogues with their partners to obtain the aim of communication.IV. Teaching proceduresNext, let s come to the most important part, the teaching process. It includes 6 steps.Step 1 Warm up(1) The first part is gre
11、eting and revision. This willcost about 3 minutes. Aftergreeting, I ll ask students a question “What s your school number? Through this part of question and answer, students can review cardinal numbers theyve learned in last lesson. This is also the preparation of the new lesson.(2) Then I ll ask th
12、e students whether they are happyor not. And III tell themthat today is my birthday and wish them to sing a birthday song for me. After the song, the class atmosphere is relaxing and then students will be more active in class.Step 2 PresentationThe second step is presentation. It will cost about 15
13、minutes.(1) After the song, I ll say today is my birthday, and when is your birthday. This leads to the study of months.(2) Use the multimedia to present a calender to to teachthe new vocabulary of January to December. I ll letstudents to read these words after me to let them befamiliar to the pronu
14、nciation.(3) 1 ll point to a specific date on the calender andsay my birthday is Nov.21st. I ll stress the syllables and repeat 21st to make students have a premilinary impression of ordinal numbers.(4) Then I ll start the teaching of ordinal numbers.First, I ll write some numbers on the blackboard
15、and let students to observe and find the changing laws ofordinal numbers by themselves. After that I ll makea summary and specificly point out some special ordinal numbers, for example, first, second, third, fifth, eighth and so on.(5)Then I ll be back to the sentence birthday? My birthday is“ When
16、is yourStep 3 ConsolidationTo consolidate their knowledge, I ll organise a game. It is called “ Finding your friends . This will cost10 minutes. Several students each holds a card that has only a part of a word, for example“Jan , and asks“ Where is my friend? Then the student who holds the rest part
17、 of the word, for example “ uary , will stand up and say “I m here. Through the game, students can remember the new words better and easier. It can also make the lesson more interesting and attract students attention.Step 4 PracticeThis part is the conversation part. This will cost about 5minutes. S
18、tudents will repeatedly practice the sentence pattern “Whenis your birthday? in groups, with partners. Through repetion, students pronunciation, tones and language sense will be better improved.Step 5 SummaryIn this part, first, I ll ask one students to summarize what we have learned today. And then
19、 I ll present mysummary. This can help student to consolidate what they ve learned and be clear with the knowledge structure of this lesson.Step 6 HomeworkThe last step is to assign today s homework. The first assignment is to finish the exercises on the textbook.The second is to write a dialogue at
20、 about eight-sentence long, which should contain the sentence pattern we have learned today. The purpose of assigning homework is to consolidate what they ve learned andimprove their writing ability.V. Blackboard designThe following is my blackboard design.
