Analysis of Teaching ContentLesson 11 is the fifth lesson in Unit 2, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject great people. Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 11 mainly talks about Bethunues lifetime, as well as talk about the people chosen on the list of rich-in-soul people in China. 教學目標【知識目標】By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to read, understand and use the new words and phrases e.g. graduate, worst, condition, government, medical, make a decision, remain in use, day after day. 【能力目標】To be able to talk about the people chosen on the list of rich-in-soul people in China. 【情感目標】To encourage them to think about why some people can be chosen as rich-in-soul people in China.【教學重點】To use the new words and phrases to talk about different people.【教學難點】To use the new words and phrases to talk about different people. 課前準備 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教學過程Step 1. Warm-up1. Review the great people.2. Introduce Norman Bethnue.Step 2. Presentation1. Listen to the tape and true or false.(1) Bethune was an American doctor.(2) He finished university in 1916.(3) He came to northern China to help people in the war.(4) The Chinese government set up a school to remember him.2. Check the answers.3. Explain the language points:graduate from意為“從畢業(yè)”。句中graduated是動詞graduate的過去式。graduate作動詞,意為“畢業(yè)”,可表示大學畢業(yè)或中學畢業(yè)。graduate作可數名詞,意為“大學畢業(yè)生,畢業(yè)生”。with a lot of hard work為介詞短語作伴隨狀語。to help people with T.B.為不定式短語作ways的定語。a disease that damages the lungs,其中that從句作disease的后置定語。a way/ways to do sth.意為“做某事的方法”,后面的動詞不定式短語作定語。a way/ways of doing sth.也表示“做某事的方法”。remain in use意為“仍然在使用中”。remain為系動詞,意為“仍然是,保持不變”,其后通常接形容詞或介詞短語作表語。remain, still的區(qū)別remain意為“仍然是,保持不變”,后面可接名詞、形容詞、介詞短語、分詞作表語??芍溉硕毫粼谀硞€場所,也可指物逗留在某個場所或保持原來的狀態(tài)。still意為“仍舊,還”,指某事仍在繼續(xù),多用于肯定句和疑問句中。make a decision意為“做出決定”。make a decision to do sth.意為“決定做某事”,相當于decide to do sth.。because為連詞,意為“因為”,引導原因狀語從句。show people how to give first aid意為“教人們如何急救”。除show之外,tell, teach, decide等動詞之后也可跟“疑問詞+動詞不定式(短語)”作賓語。first aid意為“急救”。day after day意為“日復一日,多日,連續(xù)地”,強調動作的重復性。day by day意為“一天一天地,逐日地”,強調動作的逐漸性。possible為形容詞,意為“可能的”,其副詞為possibly,反義詞為impossible“不可能的”。condition為名詞,意為“環(huán)境,條件”。動詞不定式短語to help others作狀語,用來表示目的。operate為不及物動詞,意為“動手術”,其名詞形式為operation,意為“手術”?!敖o某人或某部位做手術”常用operate on。動詞不定式短語to remember him在句中作目的狀語,前置于句首,表示強調。動詞不定式(短語)可位于句首,用逗號與句子隔開,也可位于句末。set up為動副短語,意為“建立,設立”。not onlybut also意為“不僅而且”,連接兩個表示并列關系的成分時,著重強調后者,其謂語動詞形式通常與靠近的主語保持一致。4.
