2.LouisPasteurwasborninDole,FranceonDecember27,1822.Hisfamilywaspoor,andduringhis
earlyeducation,Pasteurwasanordinarystudentwhoenjoyedartandsinging.However,whenPasteur

In1848,Pasteurwenttocollegetobecomeascienceteacher.Hethenbecameachemistryprofessor

fromtyphoidfever(傷寒).ItwasthedeathsofhischildrenthatdrovePasteurtoinvestigateinfectious

DuringPasteur'stime,peoplebelievedthatbacteriaappeareddueto"spontaneousgeneration"(自
