Ifthedeviceisbroughttoitsoperatinglocationfromacoldenvironment,

condensationmayoccur.Beforestartingup,thedevicemustbedryand,therefore,

anacclimatizationperiodofatleast12hoursisnecessary.

Beforeinstallingandoperatingthedevice,pleasenotetheinformationonambient

conditionsintheAppendixTechnicalDataandandoninstaHingthedevicein

Chapter2.2.Thedevicemustbeinstalledinsuchawaythatitpresentsnodanger

ofanykind(fbrexample,bytippingover).

Ensurethattheairventsarenotobstructedandsufficientcoolingaircanbedrawn

ininsidethedevice.

Neverconnectordisconnectpowercablesordatatransmissionlinesduringa

thunderstorm.

Inanemergencysituation(forinstance,damagetothehousing,controlsorpower

cable,penetrationbyliquidsorforeignbodies),pullthepowerplugandcontactthe

authorizedservicedepartment.

Whenpluggingin/outperipheryconnections(e.g.keyboard,mouse,printer),the

SIMATICPanelPCmusthavebeenswitchedoff(notinthecaseofPCcardand
