Look at the first picture and describe it.2. Listen to the tape and rearrange six given pictures in the correct order.To guide students to have a general idea of the article2. Discussion: What can you learn from the story?To train students ability of reading between and beyond linesHomeworkWrite a short passage about an accident with a given picture. To practise students writing skills of description說課稿My teaching material is “Bens accident” from Unit 4, Module 2, 7A, Oxford English. This unit is mainly about “Jobs people do”.I have been ready to begin this representation with four parts: analysis of the teaching material, learning objectives, teaching focus and difficulty in teaching, and teaching procedures.Part 1 analysis of the teaching materialThis lesson is the fourth period of Unit 4. The story uses past tense to describe Bens accident. It also deals with different people and different jobs when an accident occurred. Part 2 learning objectivesMy students are in Grade 7. After learning English for 7 years, theyve got English knowledge about grammar and vocabulary, but they are poor at expressing themselves, and at reading and listening for information. Therefore, the learning objectives are the followings:At the end of this period, students are expected to1. learn and use words and phrases like motorcyclist, broken, knock down, etc.2. use past tense to describe past events.3. practise and improve their reading and listening skills for general ideas and details.4. know the importance of different jobs in daily lives, bear safety in mind and know how to deal with emergencies.Part 3 teaching focus and difficulty in teachingWhen delivering this lesson, Ill focus on words and phrases like motorcyclist, broken, knock down, etc., and lead students to share ideas with what theyve learnt.The difficulty of my teaching is how to guide students to use what learnt to express their opinions.Part 4 teaching proceduresIve designed this lesson in 5 steps: lead-in, pre-task, while-task, post-task, and homework.Step 1, lead-in. Students will do a Bingo Game about job term to elicit the topic and help them get ready for the class.Step 2, pre-task. After looking at the first picture, students are required to describe it and predict jobs needed when an accident happened. I think this can arouse their interest and motivate their desire of this story.Step 3, while-task. First of all, students will listen to the tape and rearrange six given pictures in the correct order to have a general idea of the article. Then to lead students to find and know specific information about the story, Ive planned several tasks. Students will answer some questions about picture 1 like what, who, when, where. Students will listen to the tape and finish the T/F test about picture 2 and 3. For example, whether the policeman called the fire engine or not. Students will also listen to the tape and fill in blanks about picture 4 like ambulance workers, arrived. Students will fill in blanks with the help of picture 5 like nurse, doctor, hospital. Then students will complete the sentences with the given verbs in their correct tense with picture 6 like took, was, found. Finally, they will read the passage after the tape. I think students can practise and improve their reading and listening skills as well. Step 4, post-task. To begin with, I will ask students to retell the story with six pictures, and fill in blanks with proper words to let students have a review of the article. Next, to train students ability of reading between and beyond lines, they will discuss something about importance of
