Unit 5 Section A 3a-3c教學設計 2016-2017 學年度 下 學期學科組:英語授課教師:羅亞琪授課班級:初二2班課題名稱:The storm brought people together文章分析: The content of my lesson is unit5 Section A 3a-3c. It is a reading passage, which plays a very important part in this unit. This passage talks about how people went through a heavy rainstorm.Students in Grade eight have had a degree of recognition. They have their own points of view. For the students, its a meaningful topic. They can learn something about the rainstorm and develop their spirits of caring for each other in the time of difficulty. 教學目標:1). Knowledge and ability aims: Ss can grasp the meaning of the mastery words and phrases, such as:storm, flashlight, rising, beat, against,fall asleep etc. They can also know the ability to get key words, finding the change of peoples feeling and retell stories.2). Process and method aims: Ss can develop their reading skills,especially guessing the meaning of new words and finding the order of this passage. Ss can also express their own opinions about the other things bring people closer together.3) . Emotional attitude and value aims: After learning this passage, students can realize the importance of caring for others in the times of difficulty and cooperate with their group members.方法與措施: I will use Task-based teaching method, communicative teaching method, Audio-visual teaching method. I should not only teach students knowledge, but also lead them to study on their own and cooperate with each other. 教學過程:Step I Pre-task: I will show two short videos to the students.By doing this, Ss can get familiar with the background and some key words in this passage. Video one: The rainstorm was coming! In this video, I will ask Ss- What can you see from it? What is coming? Ss will hear the thunder, see the lightning and heavy rain. So its easy for they to get the answer and learn some background about rainstorm. Video two: How serious the rainstorm was? This video can help Ss know the terrible situation the rainstorm caused directly.Then I will use several pictures to show how serious the rainstorm was in details. Ss can try to understand the meaning of some new words- dark,beat against,fallen,etc. Purpose:.Through these activities, I want to make students review what they have learned before and prepare for the next step. Step II: Task cycles:Here I design three tasks.Task one: The order of this passage. Firstly, Ss will listen to the tape. They need to find the order and the different parts of this passage. Purpose: By doing this, Ss can get the time order and the three parts in this text,which plays an important role in my lesson. Task two: The Analysis of the time line. Before the storm: Answer questions and fill the outline. Question: What does para 1/para 2 talk about?What were they doing? Para 1-weather :strong wind, black clouds make the sky dark. Para 2- The activities of Ben s Dad and Mom. During the storm: Answer questions 1.How was the weather? 2.What was Ben doing when it rained heavily? 3.What did Bens family do after dinner? 4.Did they have fun? After the storm:Fill in the blanks. How was the weather? How was the neighborhood?Purpose: By doing this, Ss can learn more about the development of the whole story and the key words, which will help them to retell the story better. Pictures and flash can make the words easy to understand. Task Three: Find the topic sentence. Ss need to find the topic sentence and try to understand the deep meaning of this passage in whole. Purpose:The purpose of my design is to find the meaning of this passage and make a preparation for post-task activity. Step III: Post-taskActivity 1:group-work- retell the storyI will show some pictures which helps to explain the sentences. Ss will try to retell para1&2, para3&4 in group. The retelling should be one student can only say one sentence. Purpose: Firstly, retelling can helps to consolidate Ss understanding of the text.Then Ss retell two paras each time instead of retelling the whole passage,which can lower the difficulty of this task.Group-work can check their cooperation and mastery of Ss in different level. Activity 2:Share the opinion-what else bring people closer together? Ss can discuss how this things can bring people together and write down the key words to link these ideas. Then each group will choose the best idea and show it in the class. Then I will share my opinion-If we care for each other, the parents and children/the friends/the people and animal/the stranger/the human and nature will be closer together! Purpose:This activity is based on the text but not confined to it. My purpose is to scatter the Ss thoughts and bro
