Its eight oclock in the morning.2) Todays story is about Zhu Hui, a student from Shenzhen.3) Hes now studying in the United States.4) Hes living with an American family in New York.5) Today is the Dragon Boat Festival.6) His mom and aunt are making zongzi. 7) His dad and uncle are watching the boat races on TV.8) Well, its 9:00 p.m. in New York, and its the night before the festival.9) But there isnt a Dragon Boat Festival in the US, so its like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family.10) The mother is reading a story to her young children.11) The father is watching a soccer game on TV.12) Hes talking on the phone to his cousin in Shenzhen.13) Zhu Hui misses his family and wishes to have his mothers delicious zongzi.14) Zhu Hui likes New York and his host family a lot, but theres still “no place like home”. (miss, 動詞,意為“想念”,短語結(jié)構(gòu)為miss sb; wish, 動詞,意為“希望”,短語結(jié)構(gòu)為wish sb. to do sth. 也可作名詞,意為“愿望”,可數(shù)名詞,復數(shù)形式為wishes, 表示美好的祝愿,best wishes. )6) Zhu Hui likes New York and his host family a lot, but theres still “no place like home”.(a lot副詞短語,意為“很,非?!保喈斢趘ery much, 修飾動詞,動詞短語,放于其后。如果修飾名詞要用a lot of, 后面既可以接可數(shù)名詞,也可接不可數(shù)名詞,意為“很多,非常多,大量的”。 theres no place like home.意為“千好萬好不如自己的家好?!毕喈斢贓ast or west, home is best.)1.1.2 Ability goals 能力目標使學生能理解和正確使用本課型中的下列詞匯:race, state, child, study, miss, wish, American, any, other, young, delicious, still, the United States, dragon boat race。并在語言輸出過程中正確使用以上這些詞。 使學生運用skimming和scanning等閱讀策略,提高閱讀興趣,培養(yǎng)在閱讀中快速獲取信息的技巧和能力。 通過學習了解時差問題和中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日-端午節(jié),了解中西方文化習俗的不同。1.1.3 Emotional goals 情感目標 鼓勵學生多與用談話,打電話,寫信,發(fā)短信,發(fā)微信的方式和父母交流。引導學生了解中國傳統(tǒng)文化習俗,弘揚中華傳統(tǒng)美德。 引導學生學會獨立堅強,善待身邊的每一個人。1.2 Important and difficult teaching points教學重難點1.2.1使學生掌握以下重點單詞和詞塊:race, state, child, study, miss, wish, American, any, other, young, delicious, still, the United States, dragon boat race, about sb., a student from sp., an American family, be like, any other night, read a story to sb., wish to do sth., a lot。1.2.2 通過運用不同的閱讀任務(wù),運用skimming和scanning等閱讀策略,略讀和精讀文章,降低閱讀難度,提升閱讀興趣。1.2.3指導學生模仿閱讀內(nèi)容,談?wù)撛谙嗤臅r間,分散在不同的地點的自己和家人的活動。1.0 Student analysis學情分析2.1 Fundamental State基本情況通過前三個課時的學習,學生基本上激活了已有的語言知識,對本單元的話題(Talk about what people are doing)已經(jīng)有所感知,學生已經(jīng)基本掌握了關(guān)于現(xiàn)在進行時的表達方式,可以對別人和自己的活動進行表述,并表達自己的看法和感受。本部分內(nèi)容介紹節(jié)日,國外家庭生活場景和中美文化差異,學生比較感興趣。但是初一學生語言能力較弱,而且本課生詞較多,因此,學生閱讀本篇文章還存在一定難度。2.2 Knowledge Reserve知識儲備經(jīng)過前三個課時圍繞單元話題talk about what people are doing的學習,大部分學生的知識得到了擴展,學會了用現(xiàn)在進行時表達別人和自己的活動。本節(jié)課將豐富學生在日常活動話題中的有關(guān)文化習俗的語言輸入內(nèi)容,談?wù)撊粘I钪械幕顒樱岣邔W生的閱讀能力和提取信息的能力。 2.3 Class data本班實際本班學生對前三個課時所學基本知識掌握都比較扎實,絕大部分學生對現(xiàn)在進行時表達別人和自己的活動的用法也能夠正確使用;學習動機明確,能夠在小組活動中互相幫助,積極與他人合作,敢于用英語進行表達。本課時引導學生談?wù)摃r差,中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日-端午節(jié)以及國外家庭生活場景和中美文化差異,學生比較感興趣。對于閱讀篇目,教師應(yīng)該使用恰當?shù)拈喿x策略,引導學生從讀前討論,進入讀中的思考,進行有效的思維訓練。2.0 Teaching methods教法建議2.1 situational teaching approach情景教學法2.2 Thematic teaching method主題教學法2.3 Self-directed learning method自主學習法2.4 Task-basic teaching method 任務(wù)教學法3.0 教學輔助 a blackboard and some chalk, a computer or an iPad, a projector5.0 Teaching procedures 教學進程5.1 Leading-in and warming-up 引入與激趣活動5.1.1 Work on 2a.Show pictures for Ss, ask about the clocks to review the time. What time is it in New York? And what are people doing? Ss: Its in New York. Theyre T: How about the time in London? Ss: Try to let Ss understand the time is different in different places in the world and people do different things at the same time.5.2 Reading Practice閱讀訓練5.2.1 Pre-reading-讀前導入 Show the pictures in 2b and talk about the pictures.T: Whats in the picture?Ss: T: What are they doing?Ss: T: What day is it? What will people do that day?Ss: T: Is there this festival in the US?Ss: Present some pictures to show the background of the passage and present the new words and phrases in the passage.Ss will see: 1) the picture of a boy Zhu Hui 2) a host familyan American familyGuide Ss to have a free talk in groups and share their ideas with each other about the activities Chinese people will do on the Dragon Boat Festival and the daily activities of an American family. And ask some students to make a report. Since Ss guess and discuss the activities, now lets see if they are right.5.2.2 While-reading-讀中理解 Fast reading. Ask Ss to read the passage and quickly find out the answers to the questions.1) Where is Zhu Hui now?2) What time is it in New York?Answers: 1) In the United States. 2) 9:00 p.m., the night before the Dragon Boat Festival. Skimming. Ask Ss to read the passage and quickly find out the main ideas of Para 1 and Para 2. Give Ss answers to choose.A. How to make zongzi?B. Activities of Zhu Huis host family. C. Activities of Zhu Huis family in China.D. Why Zhu Hui is in the US. Ask Ss to read the passage carefully again, find out the answers to these 2 questions. 1) Does Zhu Hui like his host family? 2) What does he think about this home in China?Answers: 1) Yes, he likes his host family a lot. 2) He thinks theres “no place like home”. Match the verbs in column A with the words in column B and use the phrases to write sentences according to the TV report. Then ask the students to read out and check the answers. Imitating and reading aloud.Get Ss to listen to the recording and read along with it at the same time. While reading, lets pay enough attention to the pauses, the pronunciation and the intonation of the native reader.5.2.3 Post-reading-讀后提升 With the help of the names and activities listed in the chart, train Ss how to retell the whole passage. We study in the school from Monday to Friday.But there isnt a Dragon Boat Festival in the US, so its like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family. 但是在美國沒有端午節(jié),所以對朱輝和他的寄宿家庭來說,今晚和任何一個平時的晚上是一樣的。 be like, 介詞短語,意為“像,像一樣”。Our teacher is very kind.
