1/1Unit1Grammar優(yōu)教教學(xué)設(shè)計Period4語法專題課ModalVerbs(I) 設(shè)計意圖Thisisthelastperiodofthisunit,aimingtohelpstudentsgetabasicknowledgeofthegrammarinthisunit.Theemphasisofthisperiodismainlyplacedonunderstandingandusingthegrammar.Therefore,teachersshouldcreatearelativelyrealcontexttopresentenoughsentencesforstudentstodrawaconclusionabouttheruleofmodalverbs.Inthemeantimeteachersshouldoffermoreopportunitiesforstudentstopractice.Exercisesdesignedoughttobesimpleandeasytooperate,whichareconnectedwiththeirdailylifetomakeiteasytounderstand.教學(xué)目標(biāo)1.Tomasterthebasicusageofmodalverbs,suchascan,may,must,should,shall,etc.2.Tolearntousethemodalverbsintherealsituationthroughself-studyandpractice.教學(xué)重點Enablestudentstomastertheusageofthemodalverbs,suchascan,may,must,should,shall,etc.教學(xué)難點Toguidestudentstousethemodalverbsinrealsituations.教學(xué)過程Task1Lead-inT:Hello,everyone!Pleaselookatthefollowingsentencesandtrytofindwhattheyhaveincommon.(Thesentencesfromthetext.)1.Mostancientfestivalswouldcelebratetheendofcoldweather.2.FortheJapanesefestivalObon,peopleshouldgotocleangravesandlightincenseinmemoryoftheirancestors.3.Festivalscanalsobeheldtohonourfamouspeople.4.Thesecarnivalsmightincludeparades,dancinginthestreetsdayandnight.Modalverbsareusedinthesentences.(設(shè)計意圖:通過課文句子導(dǎo)入新課,讓學(xué)生初次體會情態(tài)動詞的使用語境,同時帶著問題進入課堂,激發(fā)學(xué)生興趣。)Task2Self-directedstudyInthisclasswewilllearntograsptheusagesofmodalverbsandputthemintopractice.First,it’sself-studytime.Pleaseobservethesentencesinthesheetandtrytosummarizetheirusagesbyreferringtothedictionaryorreferencebooks.Makeamarkwhereyoucanunderstand.Then,15minuteslater,we’llseewhoisthebestself-learner.Pleasebeginnow.(設(shè)計意圖:理解并根據(jù)導(dǎo)學(xué)案上的例句,構(gòu)建can,beableto;may/might;will/would;should的知識樹,總結(jié)情態(tài)動詞的基本用法,爭取學(xué)以致用,培養(yǎng)自主學(xué)習(xí)能力。)Task3Presentationandspecialattention(15minuteslater)Let5sseehowyoulearnthemodalverbsonebyone.【自學(xué)指南自我完善】Ⅰ.情態(tài)動詞的定義用來表示說話人的某種感情或語氣,對某一動作或狀態(tài)的看法、態(tài)度,即說話人認(rèn)為某事“可能”“或許”“應(yīng)該”或是“必須”發(fā)生等意義。Ⅱ.情態(tài)動詞的特點(1)情態(tài)動詞本身不能單獨作謂語,其后加動詞原形。 |(2)情態(tài)動詞沒有人稱和數(shù)的變化,只用在一般現(xiàn)在時和一般過去時中(haveto除外),情態(tài)動詞的現(xiàn)在式可以表示現(xiàn)在和將來;過去式除了表示過去外,還可用于表示較為委婉的語氣,例如:|could,would等。Ⅲ情態(tài)動詞can/could,beableto,may/might,will/would,shall/should,must,haveto的意義和用法學(xué)習(xí)建議:根據(jù)所列例句,理解并嘗試總結(jié)情態(tài)動詞的基本用法。 1.can和could(1)HecanspeakbothEnglishandFrench. 他會說英語和法語。(2)Could/Canyoutellmehowtogettothezoo?勞駕,你能告訴我怎么去動物園嗎?(3) Electricitycanbedangeroussometimesifusedwrongly.如果使用錯誤,電有時可能會很危險。(4)Wherecan/couldtheyhavegone?他們可能去哪兒呢?(5)Howcouldyoudosuchasillything?你怎么能做這樣的傻事?注意:can與beableto的區(qū)別(1)Noonecould/wasabletoanswerthequestion.沒人能回答這個問題。(2)Thefirespreadquickly,buteveryonewasabletoescape. 火勢迅速蔓延,但大家都逃了出來。歸納總結(jié):(l)can/could表示能力、功能,意為“能,會”。 (2)can/could表示請求、允許、許可。 (3)can/could表示“有時會”。 (4)can/could表示推測。 |(5)can/could表示驚異、懷疑、猜測或不相信等態(tài)度,主要用于否定句和疑問句 2.may和might(1) May/Can/Could/MightIhaveatalkwithyou?我可以和你談?wù)剢幔?2) Yourmathsteachermay/mightbeinhisoffice.你的數(shù)學(xué)老師可能在他的辦公室。(3)Mayyousucceed.祝你成功。歸納總結(jié):(l)may/might表示請求、許可,常譯為“可以”。(2)may/might表示推測,可譯為“可能,也許”。may表示推測,一般不用于疑問句中。一般情況下,might表示可能性很小。(3)may有時可用于祈使句,表示祝愿(不用might)。3.will和would(1) Willyoushareyourhappinesswithus?你可以把你的快樂與我們共享嗎?(2) Ifyouwillcometotheparty,we'llbeveryhappy.如果你愿意來參加聚會,我們將非常髙興。(3) Hewouldbenervouswhenhemetstrangers.遇見陌生人時,他總是很緊張。歸納總結(jié):(1)will和would可用于第二人稱疑問句,表示請求和建議等。would比will更委婉、客氣。(2)will和would可表示意志、允諾、愿望和決心,用于各種人稱的陳述句中。(3)will和would可表示某種傾向或習(xí)慣性動作。will表示現(xiàn)在的習(xí)慣性動作,would表示過去的習(xí)慣性動作。4.shall和should(1) ShallIcarryitforyou?我來幫你搬好嗎?(2) HeshallhavethebookwhenIfinishreading.我看完這本書就給他看。(允諾)(3) Youshouldn'thaveenteredtheteachers'officewithoutpermission.未經(jīng)允許,你們不應(yīng)該進教師的辦公室。(4) Ifthecarshouldbreakdownontheway,youwouldhavetowalkback.萬一汽車中途拋錨,你就得走回來。歸納總結(jié):(l)shall用作情態(tài)動詞,用于第一、三人稱疑問句中,表示說話人征求對方的意見或請求。(2)shall用于第二、三人稱陳述句中,表示說話人的意愿,有允諾、警告、命令、決心、強制等意思。通常譯為“必須”“應(yīng)該”或“可以”。(3)shouldn’thavedone表示對現(xiàn)在或以前的動作的責(zé)怪、批評(不應(yīng)該做的事卻做了)。(4)should表示語氣較強的假設(shè)(用于對將來情況的假設(shè)),意為“萬一”。5.must和haveto(1) Hehastopassanexaminationbeforehecanstartwork?他必須考試及格,才能開始工作。(2) —MustIreturnthebooktoday?我今天就要還書嗎?—Yes,youmust.是的,你必須還。(—No,youneedn’tdon’thaveto.不,你不必)(3) Thestreetiswet.Itmusthaverainedlastnight.街道是濕的,昨晚肯定下過雨。(4)Themachinemustbreakdownatthisbusyhour.正忙的時候機器偏偏壞了。歸納總結(jié):(l)must用于表示說話人的主觀看法,“必須”或“應(yīng)當(dāng)”。haveto用于表示客觀情況“不得不”。 (2)在回答由must提出的問題時,肯定回答用must,否定回答用needn’t或don’thaveto(mustn’t表示“禁止”“不許”“不準(zhǔn)”) (3)must表示猜測時,語氣強,只用于肯定句中。(4)must有“偏偏”“偏巧”之意。 情態(tài)動詞記憶口訣:情態(tài)動詞兩要點:動詞原形跟后面,說話語氣較委婉。can“能力”,may“許可”,must“責(zé)任”或“義務(wù)”,否定回答“needn’t”;should“應(yīng)該”,would“愿”,haveto“被迫”表客觀。Uptonow,Ithinkyouhaveknownmoreaboutthemodalverbs.Let'slookbackatthefoursentencesinthetextandtrytotellwhatthefunctionofeachmodalverbis.1.Mostancientfestivalswouldcelebratetheendofcoldweather?(表示某種傾向或習(xí)慣性動作)2.
