urattendancewillbecountedtowardyourfinalgrade(seetheGradingsectionfordetails).Grading:Therewillbe6biweeklyquizzes,6projects,2exams,andin-classdiscussions(duringthelaboratorytimeandonlyappliedforstudentswhotakethelaboratory)forthiscourse.Forthefinalgrade,theexamscontribute40%,projectscontribute40%(thebestfiveofsixprojectscounted),thequizzescontribute20%withthelowestquizdropped.TherewillberandomlyBONUSquizzes/assignmentsinclass.Thegradeofeachbonusquizrangesfrom1(fullycorrect),0.5(partiallycorrect),0(incorrect)to-1(absencefromtheclasswithnoacceptablereasons).Thebonus-quizpointswillbeaddedtothefinalgradewiththerangebetween-3to3.YourFINALgradefollowstheformulabelow:Finalgrade=40%*averageexamgrade+40%*averageprojectgrade+20%*averagequiz/assignmentgrade+bonus-quizpoints.Forexample,ifyouraveragegradeoftheexams,projectsandquizzesare90,90,and80respectively,andyouget2in-classquiz-bonuscredits,yourfinalgradeis40%*90+40%*90+20%*80+2=90.Theoverallcutoffscaleisasfollows(totalpoints:100):93.0–100A,89.
