ThisyearmarksthecentenaryoftheCPC.Sinceitsfoundingin1921,thePartyhas

takenwellbeingfortheChinesepeopleandtherejuvenationoftheChinesenationasits

abidinggoals,andhasmadecontinuouseffortstoensurethepeople'sstatusasmastersofthe

country.Chinaisacountrywithafeudal(封建的)historydatingbackseveralthousandyears

thatdescendedintoasemi-feudalandsemi-colonialsocietyaftertheOpiumWarof1840.

Overthepasthundredyears,thePartyhasledthepeopleinrealizingpeople'sdemocracyin

Democracyistherightofthepeopleineverycountry,ratherthantheprerogativeofa

fewnations.Whetheracountryisdemocraticshouldbejudgedbyitspeople,notdictatedby
