OnHalloweennight,mysiblingsandIwoulddressupincostumesandgotrick-or-treatinginourneighborhood.Wewouldwalkfromhousetohouse,knockingondoorsandsaying"TrickorTreat!"Whensomeoneopenedtheirdoor,wewouldholdoutourbagsandtheywoulddropcandyinside.Itwassomuchfuntoseeallthedifferentcostumesanddecorationsintheneighborhood.Somehousesevenhadhauntedmazesorspookymusicplayinginthebackground.

Whenwefinishedtrick-or-treating,wewouldgobackhomeanddumpoutallofourcandyonthelivingroomfloor.Wewouldsortthroughit,tradingandsharingourfavorites.ItwaslikeaminiHalloweenpartyrightthereinourlivingroom.

Secondly,wealwayscarvepumpkinsintojack-o-lanterns.ThisisatraditionthatIparticularlyenjoy.Wegatheraroundthekitchentable,eachwithourownpumpkinandcarvingtools.Wecarefullycutoffthetop,scoopouttheinsides,andthenbegincarvingourdesigns.Itisalwaysinterestingtoseethedifferentcreativeideasthateveryonecomesupwith.

Anothertraditionthatwehaveisdressingupincostumes.Wespendweeksbrainstormingandpreparingourcostumes.OnHalloweennight,weallputonourcostumesandtakepicturestogetherbeforeheadingoutfortrick-or-treating.Itisalwaysfuntoseethedifferentcostumesinourneighborhoodandtoadmiretheeffortthatothersputintotheircostumes.
