Whatcomestomindwhenyouthinkofalake?Youprobablyimagineaprettyscenewith

notactiveanymore.However,poisonousgasesfromthecenteroftheearthcontinuetoflow

lakes,these
gasesarereleasedoftenbecausethewater'turnsover'regularly.Thatis,thewaterfrom

bottomofthelakerisesandmixeswiththewateratthetop,allowingthegasestoescape

However,inLakesNyosandMonoun,thereisnoregularturningover.Nooneknowsthe
reasonforthisfact,butasaresult,theselakeshavemoregasestappedatthebottom

craterlakes.Infact,scientistswhohavestudiedLakesNyosandMonounhavefound16,000
timesmoregases.Whenastrongwind,coolweatherastorm,oralands1ide(滑坡)causesthe
