Unit 9 What does she look like? (1a-2d) Language goals: Describe peoples looks.Learning Objectives: I. Knowledge and skills1. get to know and be able to use the words and phrases: tall, short, thin, heavy, medium height, short hair, long hair, straight hair, curly hair, 2. learn and be able to use the sentence patterns: what does she/he look like? She is she hashair.II. Important and Difficult Points in Teaching 重點: be able to describe a person by using sentence pattern: he is he has難點:Medium height curly hair straight hair 的讀音,形容詞的重疊用法,is/has 的用法。學情分析七年級的學生,生性活潑好動,對游戲、競賽、畫畫特別感興趣。在課堂上盡量以鼓勵表揚為主,注重培養(yǎng)學習英語的興趣,營造英語氛圍,鼓勵學生開口說英語、特別是給差生創(chuàng)造機會,讓他們嘗試成功的喜悅。 同時,七年級的學生還存在著學習方法和學習策略經驗不足等問題,但他們卻有著極強的求知欲強和表現(xiàn)欲。根據(jù)學生的心理特點我在課上多以表揚為主,注重對學生英語學習興趣的培養(yǎng),鼓勵他們大膽說!III. How are you?Ss:Fine,thanks.T:What do you usually do on weekends?Ss:.T:And for me ,I like watching TV on weekend.And sometimes I watch basketball games on TV,my favorite basketball player is Yao Ming.(show a picture of Yao Ming.)What does he look like?設計意圖:激起學生說英語的興趣,拉近師生的距離。Step 2 T shows the target. In this class, we are going to learn how to describe peoples look.Step 3 Presentation of the new words and expressions1. learn the words about height: tall, short, medium height and the sentence pattern: He is tall/He is short/He is of medium height by talking about the pictures.2. learn the words about build: heavy, thin, and the sentence pattern: He is heavy, He is thin, by pictures.3. learn the words about hair: long hair, short hair, straight hair, curly hair, long straight blond hair by an activity “find the difference.”, and help them sum up how to describe hair:長短+曲直+顏色。設計意圖:用圖片呈現(xiàn)目標單詞和句子,對于高矮、 胖瘦的圖片對比鮮明,學生印象深刻。Step 4 Do 1a by matching the pictures with the words (1a) Students then read the difficult worlds: of medium height, curly, straight. Step 5 Listening. Pre- listening: T shows Amys photo and help Ss answer: What does Amy look like? T help Ss understand the listening background: Amy is talking about her friend, lets listen and fill in the blanks. You can listen twice.While listening: the first time, check if any student get the answer, then the second time.After listening Can you find Amys friend?
